So, we still only have 2 people, including me. We need
five to go on the trip. We just need three more people... which is a pretty difficult figure, actually. We're working on it- we don't want to miss this.
Also, this week I found out about a scholarship opportunity to study and live abroad for one year next year. If I get the scholarship, I will be sent to one of the following countries:
- Egypt
- Ghana
- India
- Indonesia
- Malaysia
- Thailand
- Turkey
It's a program funded by the State Department, and
35 students are given full scholarships. I'm applying for one of them. I'm really excited, but also pretty anxious. I am trying not to get my hopes up too much because it is an opportunity for teenagers all over the country. The application deadline is 2/2/09 and I should find out in late February whether I am a semifinalist or not. If I am a semifinalist, they bring me to Houston (all expenses paid) for interviews and such. My friend Morgan is also applying.
